Uses
  1. Herbicides & Defoliants: Its largest application. Sodium chlorate itself is a non-selective herbicide/defoliant (e.g., used in cotton harvesting). It’s also a key raw material for manufacturing other herbicides like sodium chlorite (NaClOâ‚‚) and chlorine dioxide (ClOâ‚‚).
  2. Pulp & Paper Bleaching: Historically significant for bleaching wood pulp. 
  3. Oxygen Generation: Used in chemical oxygen generators
  4. Pyrotechnics & Explosives: Acts as an oxidizer in matches, fireworks，flares, and some explosives
